Dalston Flower Show for Children – Saturday 23 & Tuesday 26 – Friday 29 May
The annual ‘Dalston Flower Show for Children’ is back for our three week Chelsea Fringe programme. It starts with a special afternoon of activities on Saturday, followed by four afternoons for half-term.
Remember, we don’t take bookings in advance, so do come early to make sure you get a place!
Botanical Bags & Bunting – Saturday 23 May, 1-5pm
Textile artists Yemi Awosile and Emamoke Ukeleghe will help children print their own ‘Curve Garden’ bag to take home and make bunting to hang in the Garden this summer.
Colour Splash Origami - Saturday 23 May: 2 – 5pm
Children can join artist Emily Tracy searching for early summer colour in the Garden, creating an animated film view of the garden, and making colourful Origami flowers.
Painting Pebbles – Tuesday 26 May: 2, 3 & 4pm
Yemi Awosile and Emamoke Ukeleghe will work with children to paint pebbles to help identify the vegetables growing in the Garden this summer.
Friendly Garden Bug Puppets – Wednesday 27 May: 2, 3 & 4pm
Puppet-maker Hyunjung Choi is back by popular demand, helping children make giant paper bee, butterfly and ladybird puppets to take home.
Perfect Pizzas – Thursday 28 May: 2 – 5pm
David Latto, the Garden’s regular pizza-maker, will help children to make and bake their own delicious pizzas in the Garden’s wood-fired oven.
What are Flowers For? – Friday 29 May: 2, 3 & 4pm
Children can learn the art of mono-printing with artist Emily Tracy, creating their own flower-filled imagery.
