Eggs and honey: Keeping chickens and bees in the garden

The session will be a taster of what’s involved and how to get started in small scale chicken and bee keeping.
Aspects will include food, shelter, space, health, equipment, costs and time commitment required.
The workshop will take place at Phoenix School Farm, which provides a learning resource for the school, local community groups and offers volunteering opportunities for local residents.
Comprising of glasshouses, polytunnels and a series of beds, fruit and vegetables of all description are produced together with medicinal herbs, plants to attract wildlife, and edible flowers. The site is also home to rabbits, bees and chickens as well as a wildlife pond. The session will be led by community food grower and trainer Cath Knight, and is hosted by Hammersmith Community Garden Association and Capital Growth.
Tickets are £12.50 for Capital Growth members and £25 for the general public.
