Get Growing Garden Trail
Sat 4 June, 2016
An event every day that begins at 12:00 am, repeating until Sun 5 June, 2016
29 of Bristol’s secret fruit & veg growers open their garden gates and community plots for the 6th annual Get Growing Garden Trail. The gardens range in scale from pocket-sized community spaces which are tucked-away behind shops, to large-scale community-supported veg box schemes. On each site, visitors will be able to learn how they can get involved, so they can find the right sort of project and level of involvement that will suit them. Many of the sites are not normally open to the public, so it’s also a great opportunity to take a peak at some of Bristol’s beautiful hidden gems.
New for 2016, we’re offering two led walks. Sara Venn from Incredible Edible Bristol will lead a walk around the city centre Urban Growing Trail, culminating in a private view of Grow Bristol’s new hydroponic/aquaponic business. Steve England will lead a walk from the brand new edible garden at The Old Library, Eastville, across Purdown to Elm Tree Farm, and then on to Feed Bristol. Both walks can be booked via EventBrite.
