An event every week that begins at 10:00 am on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, repeating until Thu 4 June, 2015
Built out of recycled materials, the bench’s growing section contains plants raised from seeds supplied by the Botanical Gardens in Jerusalem. You will have the opportunity to learn from experts how to build and adapt the bench to your own gardening needs and enjoy a question-and-answer session alongside afternoon tea in NW London. If you can’t join us for the launch on 26 May between 1.00 and 3.00pm, you can see the bench between 10.00am-1.00pm on 27 & 28 May and on 1, 2, 3 & 4 June. Refreshments only available at the launch.
A similar eco-bench has been built by a team of teenage community volunteers at the Jerusalem Botanical Gardens in Israel and we intend to link up with them during the afternoon and share our experiences – and perhaps a cup of tea! Few homes in Jerusalem have gardens and the eco-bench, also made of recycled materials, shows how fruit, vegetables and herbs can be grown anywhere. You can see – and sit on – the bench in the therapeutic gardening area of the Jerusalem Botanical Gardens
