#MyE20 – East Village (London 2012 former Athletes’ Village) 3D Herbal Graphics Planting Day!
Sat 23 May, 2015 @ 11:00 am - 3:00 pm BSTFree
All are welcome to join The Edible Bus Stop® team to help plant up a large 3D graphical display with luscious herbs at the East Village, London 2012 former Athletes’ Village. Kids and adults are very welcome to come and get stuck in with us and of course, no planting day is complete without complimentary tea and cake. Thanks to Get Living London, local café, Tina 1 (We Salute You) will serve refreshments and we will be giving away herbs in biodegradable pots to all that help us plant.
The 3D display, will read #MyE20 – with bright pink bespoke planters spelling out the lettering, is to be situated on a grassy slope and will be highly visible to the many residents arriving at the East Village from Stratford International train station.
The display will form one element to a wider scheme to animate the adjacent Get Living London Marketing Suites’ forecourt with a verdant and stylish welcome to all. Over sized living room furniture will sit at the centre of the installation, surrounded by a number of brightly coloured extra large plant pots planted with trees.
The planting will be a contemporary take on the formal Villandry style, working with the existing planting form, creating a refreshed parterre design. The backdrop to the ‘living room’ is what you can be part of on the 23rd May, creating the large 3D graphic planted with herbs. The graphic, co-designed by Star69 Studio, may very well be London’s first edible postcode!
You get to be part of a landmark sites animation, you get to meet like minded people who want to be part of the greening of London, you get tea, you get cake, you get herbs to go home with… it’s a WIN WIN WIN WIN afternoon out!
Come along on May 23rd and sign up to be kept informed of other planting opportunities in the coming weeks at the site and occasional gardening days throughout the summer months. It’s very easy to get to via public transport as its right next door to Stratford International train stations.
So we can gauge numbers, please click on the event link to register your interest, that way we can make sure we have more than enough cake to share!
