The #mygardenrightnow project is a virtual peep over the garden fence to see what real gardeners are up to during the Chelsea Fringe. It will take place regardless of the weather and is designed to reveal a snapshot of our gardening activities over a single weekend, warts and all.
This inclusive event is open to everyone irrespective of location or size of garden. If your garden consists of a single houseplant you can still take part!
Gardeners are invited to submit a photograph of their gardening activities on the weekend of the 3rd and 4th of June via social media. The chosen medium can be via a blog; or Twitter, Facebook or Instagram account(s), using the #mygardenrightnow hashtag where applicable, to enable everyone interested to find and share contributions.
A single photograph is the minimum response to encourage as many contributions as possible. Ideally the photograph should include the gardener at work in their garden, allotment, community garden, or wherever their gardening activities usually take place. Selfies are encouraged, or close ups of hands or feet if shy! Aspiring participants who are away that weekend may substitute the garden of where they are staying instead.
Final instructions and FAQs will be released on Veg Plotting – the project’s virtual hub – in May.
Phase 1 of this virtual project the first weekend in March 2017 resulted in over 100 participants and a wonderful variety of responses. The aim is for 250+ for the Chelsea Fringe!
