Photography in the Garden: Quick Start Guide
Sun 31 May, 2015 @ 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm BST£10
This short, informal course is aimed at anyone who desires to take better pictures by gaining a clear understanding of some of the core concepts of photography. Perhaps you recently bought a ‘proper’ camera and would like to get beyond the point and shoot mode. Maybe you enjoy photographing a particular subject matter but aren’t sure what type of lens is best. If you’d like to know your f-stop from your ISO, or your focal length from your focus point, this workshop is for you. Set in the beautiful and exotic surroundings of the University of Bristol Botanic Garden, this promises to be an enjoyable and worthwhile afternoon for any budding photographer.
You will need to bring your camera (preferably a digital SLR), favourite lens or lenses, memory card, charged battery, tripod if you wish, and a note pad and pen.
The workshop will be led by Andrew Maybury, a Bristol based photographer whose garden images have featured in a variety of publications. Andrew is a member of the Garden Media Guild and the Professional Garden Photographers’ Association, and recently came second in the Portfolio category of the International Garden Photographer of the Year competition.
Please note, places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
