A guided tour led by Dr. Mami Azuma to the herbaria and the xiloteca preserved in the museum warehouse. The herbarium, dated back to 1969 (when the donation of Piazzoli Perroli’s herbarium occurred), contains tracheophytes from Lombardy, Italy, Europe, Brazil, spontaneous and cultivated, besides collections of seaweeds, fungi, lichens, bryophytes, fruits and seeds. Over 30.000 dehydrated pieces are preserved. The warehouses also preserve the interesting xiloteca “R. Cormio”, acquired in 1973. It is constituted of wood tablets, illustrated wood, “Libretti di Monza” (i.e. “Books from Monza”), a carpological collection, fossilised wood, a dendrological herbarium, cross sections, showcases, various collections. Over 5.000 pieces are preserved. Both the herbaria and the xiloteca are not open to the public and are accessible only via guided tours.
