We are off to Haiku in Queen’s Wood, to step into a woodland wonderland. Walk with us composing haiku, through one of London’s best preserved woods and having fun capturing London’s heritage in just 3 lines and 17 syllables.
Pretty London wood
We’ll be going nuts counting
Haiku, the 3-line short form poem most associated with Japanese culture, are an amusing challenge to write and recite. Haiku can be read on two levels: literal and symbolic, so a simple description of a scene qualifies as much as a symbolic interpretation. Suitable for complete novices or expert poets, Haiku Woods walkshop will inspire you to compose and recite haiku.
We are crowdfunding to raise money to keep ticket prices low for events during the Urban Tree Festival – our crowdfunding campaign runs until the 1 May – and you can secure a ticket for this event by pledging £10 to our crowdfunder campaign. This not only secures you a ticket but also brings in a further £10 as Trees for Cities are match funding every pledge until we meet our target of £1,500. If you make a pledge and select a specific ticket, we will acknowledge it so you won’t need to buy a ticket after 1 May. If booking after 1 May please purchase tickets from here (booking fees apply). Accompanied children come free.
