The herbarium, dated back to 1969 (when the donation of Piazzoli Perroli’s herbarium occurred), contains tracheophytes from Lombardy, Italy, Europe, Brazil, spontaneous and cultivated, besides collections of seaweeds, fungi, lichens, bryophytes, fruits and seeds. Instead of donating money, we will get together and donate our time during which we will knit and crochet various items that will then be donated to the Ljubljana Safe House. We will also crochet a Granny blanket which we will sell at a public auction and use the proceeds to organize a summer festival for children. Our grass labyrinth has been commissioned by The Friends of Fulbourn Hospital and Community and the chaplaincy at Fulbourn Hospital, Cambridge. Set in a grove of trees, the labyrinth offers a calm, meditative space for patients, visitors and staff. The chaplaincy already offer mindfulness sessions to staff and patient groups and the labyrinth will be a permanent addition to their work. The labyrinth has been designed, created and  will be maintained by volunteers supported by Paul Herrington of Grow Places.

The planted pickup truck was a huge success both at Chelsea Fringe in Bristol and other festivals in the city. We have continued to maintain and replant the truck to demonstrate some plants that rely on pollinators to provide food for us and many plants that are good for bees and other pollinating insects. It will remain at the entrance to Cleeve Nursery Garden Centre in the village of Cleeve about 8 miles from the centre of Bristol.

Herb Garden will be launched at The Marksman at an invite-only, botanically-inspired private view on the evening of Thursday 26 May 2016. It will then be open to diners, guests of the public house and Chelsea Fringe visitors during usual opening hours (Monday to Saturday 11am–6pm for the duration of the fringe. Those with a restaurant booking will also be able to enjoy the Herb Garden during the period of their reservation (bookings available for dinner Thursday to Saturday 6–10pm; lunch Saturday 12–3pm and Sunday 12–8pm).
